Ananya Ashok (Veena)

Ananya has been learning Veena since 1999 from Sri Srikanth Chary, Founder & Director of the Nada Nidhi school. Srikanth Chary is a disciple of the music maestro Padmabhushan Lalgudi Sri G. Jayaraman.

Under Srikanth’s able guidance, Ananya has won first place twice in the Cleveland Aradhana Veena krithi competition. She has performed with the students of Nada Nidhi on several occasions, including once with her guru, and has provided veena accompaniment for a dance arangetram.

Ananya also learns vocal Carnatic music from Smt Anuradha Sridhar , Director and Founder of Trinity School, and has won several awards in vocal competitions at the Cleveland Aradhana. Ananya is an undergraduate degree in Linguistics and Anthropology from UCLA.

Vignesh Thyagarajan (Violin)

Vignesh Thyagarajan started learning carnatic vocal music at the age of 5 years with his mother Smt. Rama Thyagarajan and started learning violin at the age of 6 years with Dr. Susheela Narasimhan. Vignesh is continuing his learning of advanced techniques and kritis from Sri. Delhi.P.Sunder Rajan.

Vignesh has accompanied students from Sarvalagu percussion arts center for a Tala Vadya kutcheri performance held on the occasion of Ugadi festival conducted by Kannada Koota and to devotional songs performance during the Ugadi festival conducted by Silicon Andra. He regularly accompanies students of Sathguru Vidyalaya on annual day functions and house concerts for the last 2 years.

Vignesh continues to learn his western violin through private lessons and lead second violin in the California Youth Symphony (CYS) of the bay area’s Junior Orchestra.

Vignesh is an eighth grader at Lawson Middle School in Cupertino, CA.

Gopal Ravindhran (Mridangam)

Gopal Ravindhran has been learning the Mrudangam for the past 7 years from Shri Ravindra Bharathy Sridharan. He has also attended several workshops conducted by noted mrudangists, such as Sri Neyveli Narayanan and Sri Murugabhoopathy. Gopal has accompanied teachers/students of various musical schools in Bay Area.

He has won several prizes in competitions conducted in the bay area, Chicago and Cleveland.

In 2009 he had his Mrudangam Arangetram , accompanying Vidwan Sri Delhi Sunderajan - Vocal , Vidwan Sri VittalRamamurthy on the violin, and Vidwan Sri A.MahaDevan on the Morsing

Gopal is a 8th grader at Walters Junior High in Fremont, CA.
