Varsha Chandrasekaran (Vocal)
Varsha Chandrasekaran is 14 years old. She will attend ninth grade at Lynbrook High School, San Jose. Varsha has been learning vocal music from Smt. Divya Ramesh of Saphalya Music Academy for the past 10 years. Varsha attends workshops conducted by Vidwans Sri Thirumale Srinivas and Sri Delhi P Sunderrajan under whom she is undergoing special training.
Varsha regularly gives short Solo performances in events such as Pranava Nadham, SSS Concerts, Abhyas and performs with her group at annual events such as Dasa Smriti, Thyagaraja Aradhana, Annamacharya Day, OSAAT and Kalaaradhana.
Varsha’s other interests include pencil-art, badminton and swimming.
Hiranya Sundar (Veena)
Hiranya Sundar learns veena from Shri. Chitraveena Ganesh and has learnt from her mother Smt. Anuradha Sundar who is a disciple of Smt. Hema Veeramani, one of the prime disciples of Kalaimamani Smt Kalpagam Swaminathan. She is extremely fortunate and honored to learn vocal from Shri. Chitraveena Narasimhan. She has won several prizes in all the categories including RTP in Cleveland Aradhana. She is fortunate to have performed in Cleveland under the guidance of Shri. Chitraveena Ravikiran. She is a rising sophomore in Monta Vista high school.
Apart from music, Hiranya has won in several regional and national level art competitions. Her art work is currently on display in the local congressman's office. She is also an active member of the Speech club in her school.
Bhargav Nemani (Mridangam)
Bhargav has been learning mridangam from Sarvalaghu Percussion Arts Center, Artistic Director Sri Ramesh Srinivasan from the age of 6. Bhargav recently completed his arangetram, accompanying Vidushi Srimati Vasudha Ravi on vocal, Vidushi Srimati G. Bharathi on violin, and Vidwan Sri S.V. Ramani on ghatam. Bhargav also learns carnatic singing from Srimati Lakshmi Kalluri. He is an incoming 6th grader at Bret Harte Middle School and is 10 years old. Along with listening to carnatic music, he enjoys playing basketball and loves going on roller coasters.
Sridevi Koushik (Vocal)
Sridevi began learning Carnatic Music at the age of six from her mother Smt. Jyothi Ramesh. After eight years of tutelage under Vid. Rama Rao, she received advanced training from Ganakalabhushana Vid. R K Padmanabha. She has performed in several Sabhas in South India and the US. Her programmes have also been broadcast in the All India Radio. Currently, Sridevi lives in San Mateo, California and works as a software engineer.
Urmika Balaji (Violin)
Urmika was initiated into Carnatic violin at the age of 7 by her father Shri Mahesh Balaji. She was fortunate to become a student of Sangita Kalanidhi Padmasri A Kanyakumari from the summer of 2015 onwards. She has received vocal training from Shri Hari Devanath of Sri Paduka Academy. She is currently under the guidance of her uncle Shri K.Chandrasekaran. Urmika is a 9th grader at Homestead High School. Besides music, Urmika is an avid reader and enjoys painting.
Shreyas Ramaswami (Mridangam)
Shreyas Ramaswami is a senior disciple of Sri. Ravindra Bharathy Sridharan, founder of Nadhopasana Academy of Fine Arts. He completed his mridangam arangetram in 2014, accompanying Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan, Sri Delhi Sunder Rajan and Sri Ravi Balasubramanian. Shreyas is a recipient of the prestigious 2015 Alliance for California Traditional Arts Apprenticeship with his Guru Sri Ravindra Bharathy Sridharan.
Shreyas is a frequent concert performer and accompanies vocalists, music and dance schools at various venues in California. He has also performed at several sabhas during the 2016, 2017 and 2018 Chennai Music Season. Shreyas is a student at Santa Clara University pursuing a degree in Finance.
